Richard, 59
Degenerative Joint Pain
Dallas, TX
Treated July, 2015

At 59, Richard enjoyed an active lifestyle but was restricted by knee and shoulder pain. After years of avoiding some of his favorite activities, he was introduced to Okyanos Cell Therapy and underwent stem cell treatment in the summer of 2015. Here Richard shares his journey from limitations in mobility back to an active life without constraints.

Stem Cell Therapy for Knee PainIn July, 2015, at the recommendation of a friend, I did stem cell treatment at Okyanos for various joint issues. While my shoulder was better almost instantly (in about 2 weeks), my knee actually felt somewhat worse right after the treatment and I wondered if this was really going to work. After about 3 weeks I could feel the stem cells had been doing their job and my knee got progressively better and better, and today it feels completely restored!

“I’m 59 years old, and I had knee trouble that was limiting my mobility. I avoided any kind of long walk. I sometimes walked with a limp. My knee felt weak and for several years I wore a knee brace when I went skiing. I also had a problem shoulder and I avoided doing push-ups or using free weights because of this. I wanted to handle this without surgery or joint replacement.

“I chose Okyanos Cell Therapy because I could see they had invested in the best technology, facility and medical team. That made me feel confident to go forward and I am glad I did.

“My limping has disappeared. I no longer need to avoid walking long distances. I can now use my bike and use stairs for exercise. My mobility is fully restored, and this past holiday I skied for the first time in years without wearing a knee brace. It is miraculous!”

What research has shown us about orthopedic issues indicates that degenerative joint pain arises as a result of inflammation. Because the adult stem cells found in your body fat have the ability to reduce inflammation and repair or replace damaged bone, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, and nerves, they are uniquely qualified for the job of addressing:

  • Osteoarthritis or degenerative joint disease
  • Degenerative spine disease
  • Joint pain/stiffness
  • Chronic tendonitis
  • Sports injuries
