Mary, 87
Parkinson’s Disease
United States
Treated November, 2014

Shortly after Mary was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease (PD), she was experiencing a loss of balance which led to a serious fall and caused multiple fractures in her back. At the recommendation of their doctor, Mary’s daughter Patricia and their family explored the option of Parkinson’s stem cell therapy at Okyanos as a promising way to support their highly determined mother in fighting the progression of PD. Here Patricia shares her mother’s journey on her behalf.

“She’s up at the gym almost every day…”

Stem Cell Therapy for Parkinsons Disease“Our doctor here, Dr. Dean [Tseretopoulos] suggested my mother do stem cell therapy for her Parkinson’s. She had been diagnosed at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida, and shortly after that she took a fall and fractured her back.

“At the time she was diagnosed, her balance was quite poor and her hands were shaking a lot. That’s how she fell. Her quality of life wasn’t bad, she was just having a hard time. She has tremendous determination and willpower.

“She did the treatment at Okyanos in October, 2014 and they targeted her back injury as well. For her back, the results were incredible. She had 2 fractures in her lower lumbar. A lot of people never would have gotten out of bed, but she’s 87 and we call her the comeback kid. She’s up at the gym almost every day now with her trainer who sometimes has to ask her to tone it down so she doesn’t over-exert herself!

“Beyond that, now she is walking very straight and isn’t shuffling her feet. Occasionally when she’s tired she’ll veer off a little, but she’s not using a walker or a cane. She is doing really, really well and a lot of this is due to the stem cell therapy.

“I just don’t see a downside to this treatment. In terms of her Parkinson’s, she’s done superbly well. I think it’s a great concept and I don’t know why it’s not available in the United States… But thank goodness you guys are so close!”

Parkinson’s Stem Cell Therapy: How Does it Work?

Facing a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease is life-changing. While some symptoms of Parkinson’s can be hard to detect, others are hard to ignore. The unrelenting pace of this progressive disease can quickly rob you of a normal life.

Cell therapy has become a research and treatment focus in recent years, for the fact that patients’ own adipose (fat) tissue is a potent source of stem and regenerative cells which have the ability to:

  • Decrease inflammation
  • Facilitate nerve transmission
  • Replace damaged brain cells
  • Stimulate new blood vessel growth for better blood flow

Stem cell therapy utilizes leading technology to harness the healing properties of your own pure adipose stem cells. To learn more or to request a complimentary one-on-one consultation with one of our doctors, please contact us at 855-659-2667 or submit your request online.
