Gretchen Dezelick, RN, BSN, CCRN, CNOR, LHCRM, CASC, brings to her role as Director of Clinical Operations more than 35 years of nursing, administrative and management experience in a variety of healthcare settings. As a member of the senior leadership group, she and her team oversee the care of all patients. Gretchen ensures the highest safety standards, manages the nursing and clinical staff and establishes and maintains effective systems and processes to support Okyanos’ standard of care.

She earned her nursing degree from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (1983) and a BSN in nursing from Millersville State University in Millersville, PA (1984). Gretchen has worked as a Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN) for more than 20 years and as a Certified Peri-Operative Nurse (CNOR) for more than 7 years. She obtained her Licensed Healthcare Risk Manager (LHCRM) credentials in the state of Florida in 2009.

Prior to her position at Okyanos, Gretchen was Risk Manager and Patient Safety Officer at Laser Spine Institute, a leader in endoscopic spine surgery, where she was responsible for ensuring compliance with standards of practice to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements for licensure and certification for three ambulatory surgery centers, including the oversight of risk management, performance improvement and the patient safety program.

Before being promoted to that position, she was Director of Nursing at Laser Spine Institute, managing and directing a staff of 30 employees including RNs, surgical technicians and medical assistants. Over the years, Gretchen has received multiple service awards as an outstanding employee and leader. She holds memberships in several professional associations including the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), Association of Peri-Operative Registered Nurses (AORN), American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) and Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA).
