Freeman Lockhart, MBBS, FRCSC, serves as Orthopedic Surgeon at Okyanos. As an expert in joint, skeletal, spine and muscular pathology with more than 20 years in his medical career, Dr. Lockhart works with each orthopedic patient at Okyanos to understand your exact degenerative condition and formulate a plan of care. In our state-of-the-art facilities and with the guidance of enhanced imaging technology to ensure proper placement of the stem cells, Dr. Lockhart then performs direct cell therapy injections using your own adipose- (fat) derived stem and regenerative cells to address damaged joints, bone, tendons, ligaments or cartilage.

Dr. Lockhart holds a BSc in chemistry and biochemistry and was awarded his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of the West Indies. He went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency program at the Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he earned the status of Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Recognized as a leading orthopedic surgeon throughout The Bahamas, Dr. Lockhart continues to serve as the Chief of Surgery at the Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Grand Bahama as well as The Orthopaedic Center of Grand Bahama. He has been a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons for over 15 years as well as a member of the Medical Council of the Bahamas, the Medical Association of the Bahamas and the Grand Bahama Medical and Dental Association, the organization for which he also served two terms as President.
