Okyanos Heart Institute is located near downtown Freeport, Bahamas.  We are located in the Bahamas due to

Our facility is built to and operated in accordance with applicable U.S. Surgical Center accreditation standards. Okyanos Heart Institute is led by Dr. Howard Walpole, recently elected a Trustee of the American College of Cardiology and staffed with U.S. trained medical staff. We emphasize cleanliness, technology, science and hospitality.

Travel and Accommodations

Our patient coordinators are committed to the ease and comfort of you and your family’s travel to Okyanos Heart Institute. We have preferred arrangements with world-class hotel facilities close to the institute. We can assist you in the logistics of your travel into Freeport International Airport and the exquisite Bahama Islands, just a short flight from Miami International Airport for U.S. residents. You will need a passport to travel into the country. Transportation to and from the airport and hotel to the facility can be arranged. English is the primary language spoken on the island and the Bahamian dollar the currency, equivalent to one U.S. dollar.
